Karen Hook King is a CPA with more than 30 years of financial and forensic accounting, financial planning and tax consulting experience. Her practice focuses exclusively on the financial aspects of family law including divorce financial consulting services, collaborative divorce, and forensic accounting services with an emphasis on separate property characterization and tracing.

An accounting graduate of Texas Tech University, Karen began her CPA career with the public accounting firm Arthur Andersen & Co., specializing in audit, forensic accounting and business consulting for entrepreneurial companies. Prior to opening her firm, Karen Hook King, CPA, she was a financial and management consultant with Main Event Management Corporation.
In addition to her divorce oriented CPA practice, Karen was an Income Tax Planning instructor for multiple years at Rice University’s Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies. Karen continues to have a strong interest in educating the public on financial literacy. She is a frequent speaker to civic and professional organizations, as well as, in the college setting about the financial aspects of divorce, collaborative divorce and financial planning. In both 2013 and 2012, Karen was a featured speaker at the citywide Houston Invesco Women’s Financial Bootcamp.
